EUFORIA http://www.euforia-project.eu/EUFORIA/ (EU Fusion fOR Iter Applications) is funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The goal of the Euforia project is to develop a comprehensive framework and infrastructure for core and edge transport and turbulence simulation, linking grid and High Performance Computing (HPC), to the fusion modelling community.
The HPC group is the leader of the joint research activity to code optimize and improve the parallelization of twelve supercomputer codes used to simulate various aspects of a Tokamak fusion reactor. Euforia is a joint project between 14 European institutions,Chalmers University of Technology (Coordinator), Sweden, Max Plank Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP), Germany, Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain, Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medio Ambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT), Spain, Karlsruhe Instituts für Technologi (KIT), Germany, Finnish IT Center for Science (CSC), Finland, Åbo Akademi University (ABO), Finland, University of Edinburgh (UEDIN), United Kingdom, Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Spain, French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), France, University Louis Pasteur - Strasbourg I (ULP), France, University of Ljubljana (UOL), Slovenia, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center PSNC, Poland, and Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment (ENEA), Italy
