The objective of the FCEP research program is to ensure that Finnish combustion engine industry can maintain its leading position on global markets. The objective of the program is to support Finnish companies and research institutes through close cooperation to further develop their research facilities, know-how, technologies and products to meet the future market requirements, which are closely connected to the emissions legislations including green house gas emissions.
The program has been divided to six Work Packages each of which is focused on a specific research theme.
The IT department of Åbo Akademi university is part of WP5 - Intelligent Automation and Control. The aim to enhance our knowledge of diesel engine automation, and we will apply their knowledge on systems engineering and software technologies for embedded system during the project. The objectives are to improve the automation and control of diesel engines by applying novel control methods or applying existing state of art methods, develop fault diagnostics and investigate and support the implementation of the methods in practical control and computing environment.
