Charmi Panchal is a PhD student at Åbo Akademi University, starting November 2011. She is also part of the doctoral school at Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS).
Her background is in applied mathematics and she is now working on Logicome project.
Details of Logicome project:
In logicome project first the modularised biological pathway model is written in COPASI, and the model is simulated in using java bindings in-order to produce all possible knock-out mutants outcomes over the set of species lying in the interface regions of the modules. This knock-out mutants are discretised and then imported in the logical framework to produce the logical outcome (logicome) dipicting the logical connections between the interface species interms of boolean circuit. For this approach a case-study was the EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) pathway and the technical details of the model are available as Basic Copasi model, Model implemented in JAVA bindings, Simulation data and as Logicome.
Research Interests: Boolean Logic based Biological models, Reaction systems, Computational modeling of biological models.
